- Starting with Windows 7, you can turn this off using Group Policy: Start -> gpedit.msc -> ; User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Explorer; Turn off numerical
- I also use a tweakware program called ShellFolderFixUI toreposition Explorer windows after they are started.Lastly, there's one thing I have done that may well help you: Open your Explorer window.
So much for kbd shortcuts. I select about 10 of them to open and right click on selected files and on top of the menu it say Open as it should. My Pictures/My Music etc... Then I rememberd I plugged in my external to a usb 3.0 port today. Don't see how an external hard drive error could be affecting Windows Explorer. Window with this program immediately freezes.
