Windows 8 gave me hella issues because I must've disabled something in SERVICES.MSC or MSCONFIG by accident. After two days of researching my "no connectivity" problem on the internet (Microsoft is worthless), your suggestion took 15 seconds and worked like a charm. Before I removed the old network, it was a big bar on a the list, description and everything. Then close ALL OPEN BROWSERS, and perform an automatic repair through windows (right click the wireless icon and click troubleshoot I think).
