If you are using Windows XP and Media Player 11, go to Tools – Options, then under the Performance tab you will see a slider for Video Acceleration. though looks a bit saturated#2 contrast a bit dull. No offense to VLC lovers, I just prefer using MPC HC, so hopefully I can fix this. Note that it's hard to use VLC as a reference when troubleshooting video problems for the reason being it includes its own plugins instead of possibly using old or buggy codecs

So all in all, it looks like that Rainmeter might have difficulties with the rendering methods. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=368277 It happens fairly frequently and occurs with Windows Media Player as well.I've used both the latest build of Media Player Classic Home Cinema and the 1.60 version but the problem persists. VMR 9 Renderless: No flicker, bad colors. If you are using ffdshow codec you can set alot of color/brightness settings there.madVR would be the best but it may not work on some systems, depends heavily on graphics card.
the video turns upside down (even the subtitles) but the flicker is immediately goes away!Strange, isn't it? http://longtermpolicy.net/media-player/windows-media-player-plus-download.html What’s happening is that the laptop’s video capabilities just can’t push that much data to two displays at the same time, so the video often won’t play on the projector screen Yes, my password is: Forgot your password? Some laptops let you go into the BIOS to designate the amount of memory dedicated to video, and this may also be an option although that memory will be taken away

Quite a lot of stuff there, so maybe worth a look, and maybe think about using something else if we can't pin down the cause with a fix. Check This Out Do you have latest GPU drivers?
If the video file is from a vendor or customer, you may need to ask them what software they used to create the video. Laptop video outputs broken (grounding issue?) slide 1 of 5 Playing video on your PC actually requires a lot of the machine, and sometimes it has trouble playing the video smoothly and as a result you get DivX screenshot courtesy of DivX.com. slide 2 of 5 Media Player Settings The most common cause of video flicker in Windows Media Player is when hardware acceleration is enabled. http://longtermpolicy.net/media-player/media-player-warble.html acuriousman CCCP Ensign Posts: 7 Re: Flickering video issue. « Reply #7 on: September 11, 2012, 12:09:42 PM » Quote Uninstalled CCCP and using the bundled MPC copy.

As a quick addition i tested dxdiag and it also went fine without any flicker.I'm tested flash video playback on youtube, even flash games with 3d renderers (these are hardware accelerated) I heard they stopped developing it. Update driver, or upgrade to a newer card. Sometimes this can be done via Windows Update, or you may need to go to the manufacturer’s website to get the most up-to-date drivers. m 0 l acuriousman September 10, 2012 4:41:56 AM Yeah, it's pretty bad.
