The DVD does not appear to be damaged and I do not have a drive cleaner but it looks as if Mike's suggestion has solved the problem. Once you delete the hardware from the device manager, it automatically installs the VGA drivers as you still need some video for output. I don't have any OS installed. I installed 32-bit version on the exact same partition and it went smooth. I let it sit for a while (30 min maybe?) letting it "try" to expand, and all of a sudden it moved on to the next step, and now is working http://longtermpolicy.net/error-code/error-code-0xc0000034-windows-10.html Thread Status: Not open for further replies.

I saw in a Vista Beta install question where someone was having a similar problem. I burnt it using the low'est writing speed. I met this issue when I was using S-ATA+Raid 0. The only difference is that once I inserted disc B, I just left it in and it worked fine for me.

Is your CD/DVD drive a SATA drive? Windows 7 Home Premium Windows 7 Removed a perfectly good working Win Xp for this install.
